Kerry Shelanski

Kerry Shelanski started KS Communications because she had her own ideas. In fact, she usually does.  She wanted to pick and choose her own clients and trust her own instincts about the best ways to help them meet their goals.

After earning a master’s degree in journalism from NYU, Kerry launched her PR career with four years at The Rowland Company, then a top New York firm noted for its blue-chip clients including MasterCard, DuPont, Johnson & Johnson and many more.  This smoothed a path to the largest PR agency in Denver, where she moved with her cable executive husband.

Kerry’s continuing success for clients in diverse industries – including shopping centers, banking, construction, real estate, retail, restaurants, cable TV and consumer products – still thrills her.  She also devotes her talents to key philanthropies, including serving as a board member of Jewish Family Service of Colorado.  Kerry recently co-chaired the successful Reel Hope event in December 2011 that raised more than $400,000 for this impactful local organization.

Molly Bowler

Need the perfect word? The best description? Or the smartest, why-didn’t-I-think-of-that-myself idea? Ask Molly Bowler – we usually do. Molly is an accomplished PR professional with high-level, in-house and agency experience in Los Angeles and Denver, where she also has served as chairperson of the Colorado Chapter of PRSA. Molly, who has a journalism degree from the University of Missouri, is central to the KS team’s public affairs efforts. She’s also one of our top resident writers and certainly our editor-in-chief.

Kevala Kenna

Everything about Kevala Kenna is beautifully composed – especially the savvy style blogs and remarkable tweets she writes for our clients.  And retailers love the way she incorporates their products and brands into fashion segments and stories across the country.  But don’t mistake Kevala’s wardrobe know-how for a one-dress wonder:  Her experiences working with nonprofits, real estate developments and financial companies give her the ability to wear more than one great hat. She’s creative but buttoned up – must be the business degree from the University of Colorado.

Meghan Dougherty

An NYU-grad (who, along with Bob Dylan, just happens to be from Hibbing, Minn.), Meghan Dougherty brings her effervescent, wide-ranging perspective and social media smarts to a broad array of clients in Colorado and elsewhere. Currently for KS, Meghan is supporting NewMark Merrill in transforming the Twin Peaks Mall in Longmont into an exciting new retail destination. And did we mention she’s also an author – and a proud member of Rocky Mountain Rollergirls?  There’s nobody quite like Meghan.

Allison McGee Johnson

Lucky for Allison McGee Johnson, two of her personal passions – community involvement and travel – intersect beautifully in her work.  For KS, Allison has managed multilayered community outreach efforts and headed up highly successful travel media outreach for the new Santa Monica Place, which netted hard-to-beat coverage in The New York Times and Condé Nast Traveler. With strong agency experience in Denver and Washington, D.C., Allison also has expertise on the client side, as director of PR for Destination Hotels and Resorts. She holds a degree in marketing from the University of Virginia.

Robin Rothman

Behind every great PR team is a really great researcher.  If it exists, Robin Rothman can find it and deliver a brilliant analysis – whether it’s the low-down on the political climate in an obscure city or a list of can’t miss foodie events in Los Angeles.  A Phi Beta Kappa from Penn State University, Robin has helped companies in cable television, fast food, computer software, medicine and more to reach diverse communications goals.  She is eclectic, eccentric and hilariously funny – but single-minded in her devotion to client results.

Tim Giesen

Tim Giesen makes everything seem so easy.  Need a complex presentation, you know, the kind with charts, graphs and images?  Done.  And done before you have to worry about it.  It’s just that way with branding, identity, web design, ad layouts, collateral materials, annual reports and so much more.  We love working with Tim – not just because he’s the only guy on our team – but also because his combined business and design backgrounds make him practical (and practically one-of-a- kind).

Jorie Stevens

Jorie Stevens keeps our team – and our clients – right on track.  She’s up before the sun to find client media mentions for daily reports that give executives a read on what’s new and what’s important.  Her project management and expert organizational abilities make her an integral part of the KS team.  Support? It’s yours.  Multitask? Just ask.
